Our Brain
Before you can best understand how and why BrainCore works, it’s important to get a sense of how our brains function. Our brains are powerful, complex organs, and like most other things, it functions best when all of its parts are communicated clearly and frequently with one another. The different parts of our brains send electrical signals, called brain waves, to communicate with each other. Over 40 years of research has shown that for top performance with any given activity (sleeping, thinking, relaxing), there is an accepted normal pattern of brain wave activity among its parts. This healthy pattern of communication is referred to as Neurological Regulation. When this pattern is off in any way, it’s called Neurological Dysregulation Syndrome (NDS).
What causes NDS? NDS is frequently a result of tension on the nervous system caused by a partial dislocation of bones, poor nutrition, stress, drugs or trauma.
Here’s an example: When we are awake and focused on a task, our brains should produce Beta waves. However, for some individuals, Theta waves are produced. Theta waves are normal when you’re falling asleep, not when you’re supposed to be focused! But somehow, the waves got thrown off. Someone with this type of neurological dysregulation may show symptoms of inattention or hyperactivity, common for someone with ADD or ADHD. NDS is associated with any number of conditions including anxiety, insomnia, headaches, memory loss, autism, Asperger’s, and more.
This is where BrainCore Therapy can help, significantly. BrainCore provides a non-invasive, drug-free and painless neurofeedback approach that works with our nervous system to retrain our brain waves to create new, more appropriate wave patterns and break the cycle of NDS.
